Enjoy the convenience of shopping online, pay our discounted prices and save shipping costs by picking your order up in person.
At Checkout just choose Renninger's Market Pick-up ($0.00) as your shipping option. Orders placed during the week will be available on Saturday and orders placed on Saturday will be available on Sunday for pick up at Renninger's. Swing by our booth between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., your order will be ready and waiting for quick pick-up.

Hermit Crabs
We ship our hermit crabs for overnight delivery using UPS Next Day Air to minimize time spent in transit. We deliver our crabs to the UPS store at 6 pm and they are usually on your doorstep before noon. For safety each crab is individually packed in a vented plastic container with a bed of moistened coconut fiber inside. The inside of the box is packed with 'Wood Wool' which allows for air circulation. We require a signature on delivery so someone needs to be available to receive the shipment and unpack your crabs as soon as they arrive.
Shipping is charged at the actual cost to us. Shipping costs are high these days. When ordering hermit crabs you may want to gather some friends together, place one group order, and divide up the shipping costs. There is not much price difference between shipping 1 crab and 5 crabs.
You can get an estimate of shipping costs by putting the crabs you would like in your basket. Then in the 'mini basket' on the right side of the screen select Shipping Options and enter your Zip and Country. The estimate is listed accross from UPS Next Day Air.
Dry Goods
We offer shipping via UPS and the USPS. Shipping charges are figured, based on the order weight, at the time of check out. Pricing will vary based on how fast you need your products.
Generally, if time permits, orders placed before noon EST will ship the same day. UPS picks up later than the post office so we have more time for packing. The Post Office delivers on Saturday and UPS does not, unless Saturday Delivery is requested and additional fees paid.
When your merchandise ships, you will be sent a confirmation e-mail with tracking information and your payment will be processed.
Return Policy
The Goal of The Crabbage Patch is to offer quality products and healthy hermit crabs. We want you to be happy with your purchases and value our relationship with you as a customer. Below we have laid out the guidelines of our return policies. Beyond these guidelines we will consider requests on an individual basis.
Hermit Crabs
We take great care in packing and shipping our crabs, however it is a stressful event for them. If you ever receive a deceased or unhealthy crab from us please contact us immediately. We will replace them at our expense, including shipping.
Once your crabs are settled in there are many factors that can affect their well being. It is our feeling that, if you follow our care guidelines, your hermit crabs should live for many years. If you have a survival concern in your crabitat please contact us. We want to help with understanding what may have shortened the crab's life. At our discretion we may replace the crabs or refund your money, excluding shipping charges.
Dry Goods
Goods that are damaged during shipping or arrive defective will be replaced at our expense, including shipping.
Any product may be returned to us, within 30 days of receipt, for a refund or exchange, excluding shipping charges.
Some products may have an additional manufacturers warranty. Products manufactured by The Crabbage Patch carry a full, SATISFACTION GUARANTEED, warranty. Warranties, refunds or exchanges are limited to the price of the item.
Return Procedure
If you need to return or exchange an item, please follow the steps below.
- Call 352-383-8011 or e-mail us with your return request. Please include your order number, description of product to return and reason for the request.
- We will issue you a Return Authorization Number with return instructions.
- For items where we are paying for the shipping, as stated above, we will issue you a pre-paid return label and/or schedule a pickup for your package.
- Please carefully re-pack the items for return including all accessories, manuals etc. and write the Return Authorization Number on the outside of the package.
